وحاول السد البحث عن تقليص الفارق ليقترب من التسجيل عقب عرضية من أكرم عفيف مرت أمام البديل جيوفاني انريكي وهو في مواجهة المرمى (88)، فيما أبعد حارس الهلال عرضية من أوتافيو في الدقيقة (90)، لتنتهي بعدها المواجهة بفوز الفريق السعودي بثنائية.
