عقدت المملكة العربية السعودية وجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية والجمهورية التركية في الرياض، اليوم (الإثنين)، اجتماعًا طارئًا للجنة الإستراتيجية السياسية والدفاعية لحلف مكة الدفاعي، لبحث التطورات الأمنية والتهديدات التي تواجه المملكة العربية السعودية.
وفي إطار البناء المؤسسي لحلف مكة الدفاعي، قررت اللجنة تعيين معالي الفريق المتقاعد نعمان محمود، من جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية، كأول أمين عام ولمدة ثلاث سنوات.
ورحبت الدول الأطراف بمعاليه، متمنية له التوفيق والنجاح في أداء مهامه، ومعربة عن ثقتها في إسهامه في تطوير الحلف وتحقيق أهدافه.
وأدانت الدول الأطراف بأشد العبارات محاولة استهداف مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة، واستمرار الهجمات التي تستهدف المدن والمنشآت المدنية والاقتصادية في المملكة، مؤكدة رفضها القاطع لأي اعتداء أو تهديد لأمن المملكة وسلامة أراضيها.
وأشادت جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية والجمهورية التركية بيقظة وجاهزية القوات المسلحة السعودية، وبالأداء الاحترافي والكفاءة العالية التي أظهرتها في التصدي للتهديدات والاعتداءات التي تواجه المملكة، وحماية أمنها وسلامة أراضيها.
واستعرضت اللجنة نتائج المشاورات السياسية والعسكرية التي سبقت الاجتماع، ووافقت على التوصيات المرفوعة إليها، مؤكدة أن حلف مكة الدفاعي يجسد التزامًا راسخًا بالدفاع المشترك، وموقفًا موحدًا في مواجهة التهديدات.
وقررت اللجنة الانتقال الفوري إلى التنفيذ العملي لالتزامات الدفاع المشترك، واتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لتوفير القوات والقدرات العسكرية المتفق عليها وسرعة نشرها في المملكة، وفق الترتيبات المعتمدة والتشريعات الوطنية للدول الأطراف، بما يعزز الجاهزية والتكامل العسكري والقدرة الجماعية على مواجهة التهديدات والتصدي لها.
وأكدت الدول الأطراف أن أمن كل دولة طرف هو جزء لا يتجزأ من الأمن الجماعي للدول الثلاث، وأن ترجمة اتفاقية مكة للدفاع المشترك إلى إجراءات عملية يجسد مصداقية الالتزام بالدفاع المشترك، ويعزز فاعلية الردع، ويؤكد وحدة الدول الثلاث وعزمها على الدفاع عن أمنها وسيادتها وسلامة أراضيها، وفقًا لأحكام الاتفاقية.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Turkey held an emergency meeting today (Monday) in Riyadh for the Political and Defense Strategic Committee of the Makkah Defense Alliance to discuss security developments and threats facing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As part of the institutional framework of the Makkah Defense Alliance, the committee decided to appoint His Excellency retired General Nauman Mahmood from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan as the first Secretary-General for a period of three years.
The member states welcomed His Excellency, wishing him success in his duties and expressing their confidence in his contribution to the development of the alliance and the achievement of its goals.
The member states strongly condemned the attempts to target Makkah and Madinah, and the ongoing attacks on cities and civilian and economic facilities in the Kingdom, reaffirming their absolute rejection of any aggression or threat to the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of Turkey praised the vigilance and readiness of the Saudi Armed Forces, as well as the professional performance and high efficiency they demonstrated in confronting the threats and attacks facing the Kingdom, and in protecting its security and territorial integrity.
The committee reviewed the results of the political and military consultations that preceded the meeting and approved the recommendations submitted to it, affirming that the Makkah Defense Alliance embodies a firm commitment to collective defense and a unified stance in facing threats.
The committee decided to immediately transition to the practical implementation of collective defense commitments and to take the necessary measures to provide the agreed-upon forces and military capabilities and to rapidly deploy them in the Kingdom, in accordance with the approved arrangements and national legislations of the member states, enhancing military readiness, integration, and collective capacity to confront and respond to threats.
The member states affirmed that the security of each member state is an integral part of the collective security of the three countries, and that translating the Makkah Agreement for collective defense into practical measures embodies the credibility of the commitment to collective defense, enhances deterrent effectiveness, and confirms the unity of the three countries and their determination to defend their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, in accordance with the provisions of the agreement.
